This document will describe how you can set up Outlook 2003 to receive and send mail using your INDOWEBSERVICES hosting account.
|
What you will need
To set up Outlook 2003 you will need some information.
- Outlook 2003
- Your domain name (i.e. domain.com)
- The email address assigned to you
- The password assigned to you
You should be able to get this information from the person in charge of your website, or if you are the person in charge of the website and are unsure of any of the information, please contact support (support@indowebservices.com or 0361 236 849).
|
| Adding a new account in Outlook 2003 |
1. From the top menu, select "Tools" and then "Email Accounts...".

|
2. Select that you would like to "Add a new e-mail account".

|
| 3. Click "Next". |
4. In the "Server Type" window, select "POP3".

|
| 5. Click "Next". |
6. Under "User Information" enter the name you would like to be displayed next to the emails that you send. Usually this should be your full name (i.e. "John Doe"), but in some cases it may be something like "Accounting" or "Sales". For "E-mail Address", put in the email address that you will be using for this account (i.e. john.doe@domain.com).

|
| 7. Under "Logon Information", enter your full email address (the one you used in step 6) and the password assigned to you. |
| 8. Under "Server Information" For the "Incoming mail server (POP3):" text box, you can use "mail.indowebservices.com" or if your DNS is already pointing to our servers, you can use "mail.domain.com" where "domain.com" is replaced by the domain name for your website. If you are unsure about the DNS settings for your site, use "mail.indowebservices.com". The same value for the Incoming mail server should be used for the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server (SMTP):" text box. |
9. Click on the "More Settings.." button. This will open the "Internet E-Mail Settings" window. Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab. Make sure that the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". You can leave "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" selected.

|
| 10. Click "OK". This will drop you back to the "E-mail Accounts" window. |
| 11. Click "Next". |
12. Click "Finish". This will close the wizard.

|
| Your Outlook 2003 has now been configured to use the INDOWEBSERVICES servers. |
| Note: Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) do not allow use of SMTP servers outside of their network. In this case, you will have to contact your ISP to see what the settings are for your outgoing SMTP server. |
