PayPal Merchant account available for Indonesia
Many years we have waited to accept payment via PayPal in Indonesia. All people who opened an e-commerce shop in Bali or Indonesia noticed the same thing, it is very difficult to get a merchant account when you only have an Indonesian bank account. Now starting Oktober 2007 PayPal enabled Indonesian users to withdraw their funds using a VISA credit card.
It is still not possible to withdraw your funds directly to an Indonesia bank account but at least this is a start. Enabling payment using PayPal makes it much easier for people to pay at your store because many people already have a PayPal account and the Trust level of PayPal is high.
We will keep you posted if there is more news on Merchant account and Indonesia.
